Project Background
We recently complete a driveway installation in ‘New Huka Falls’ colour blend from Vuba. We’re revisiting the same property for this case study! As well as installing the driveway, we have been working hard to help complete the internal renovation too.
The Project
In addition to installing the driveway, we worked hard to complete the internal renovation for this stunning property.
The client wanted to create a seamless, stylish look throughout their open-plan kitchen, living room, and entrance hall.
To achieve this, they chose a microcement flooring system from Forcrete for its durability, modern aesthetic, and versatile finish.
The total project covered 160m² of flooring, with the aim of creating a surface that offers a sense of movement and natural colour variation.
The Process
Choosing the Colour Blend:
The client selected the ‘Duo Colour Blend’ of Forcrete Fossil 1 and Fossil 3. This combination was chosen to create a rustic finish that adds depth and character to the space. We installed the lighter Fossil 1 as the base coat, then applied the darker Fossil 3 to achieve a dynamic, textured appearance.
Multi-Layer Microcement Installation:
The microcement system we used requires six coats and a meticulous installation process:
- Day 1-2: Surface preparation and application of the primer.
- Day 3-4: Application of the base coat using the lighter shade (Fossil 1).
- Day 5: Application of the darker blend (Fossil 3) to create the rustic effect.
- Day 6: Sealing the microcement with protective layers for added durability.
- Day 7: Final inspection and touch-ups to ensure a flawless finish.
A team of three experienced installers worked diligently over seven days to complete the installation with precision and attention to detail.
The Result
The result is a stunning, seamless microcement floor that ties together the open-plan kitchen, living room, and entrance hall with a cohesive, modern look.
