Project Background
We have just completed another large scale major refurbishment for Two Riversmeet leisure Centre in Dorset. The client chose Stonex Quartz Screed supplied by SIDEC in the Pacific colour blend for the 466m2 pool surround and 113ml of upstand.
The Project

Breaking out tiles at coping edge and diamond grinding the remainder of tiles
Installing trim over the top of cove tile
Replacing existing drainage gullies that were broken and in poor condition. We had new bespoke drainage lids fabricated by Poly Advisory Ltd
Mesh and prime the surface
The Process
We allowed 3 days to install the Stonex Quartz Screed and a further 3 days to seal the surface.
The surface was made completely non-porous by applying 2 costs of Sidec EPG and a final PU matt seal over the Stonex Quartz screed. We also incorporated polybead in the final seal coat to maximise the non-slip qualities of the surface, which is absolutely key for this environment.
Our flooring took a tired looking area with dated tiles and created a bright, modern pool surround.
